I'm sure spring cleaning is at the top of everyone's list, but getting organized can be so difficult when you don't have a ton of space, right? As someone who lived in 11 different NYC apartments in three different boroughs over the course of 12 years, I consider myself a small space expert. I'm not exactly proud of this, I'm just stating the facts! One of my apartments was so tiny that my kitchen was basically in my bedroom, and I actually used my stove to store shoes. Not super ideal, but I made the most of it to stay in my beloved (but crazy expensive!) city. As you can imagine, I was always on the hunt for stylish, streamlined wall-mount options, and I think these are some of the most clever and well-executed American-made options I've seen.
Made in San Francisco, California
Chris Brigham's solid maple wall-mount tables work great as bedside tables, but are so functional they'd work well anywhere.
Made in Astoria, New York
Why buy a simple wall-mount bike rack when you can kill two birds and store books as well?
Made in Coquitlam, Canada
Ok, this wall mounted desk with a flip down writing surface is from our northerly neighbors, but I couldn't resist since it's so handsome and functional. Here it's shown in American black walnut, but it's also available in bamboo, maple, cherry, douglas fir, walnut, and wenge.
Made in Ohio
Obviously you could use these shadowboxes for anything, but I think they're perfect for pretty bathroom display. Couldn't you imagine them with small cups of q-tips and cotton balls, perfumes and soap?
Made in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
How simply brilliant is this wall-mount waxed canvas mail sorter with four pockets?
Made in Augusta, Georgia
These little floating shelves are so sweet and functional. I'd use them to display a collection or to get plants out of my toddler's reach.
Made in Oshkosh, Wisconsin
These hexagonal shelves make such a big statement that they double as art.
Made in Charleston, South Carolina
My last kitchen in Brooklyn was so small that we had no drawers! This mason jar rack would've certainly come in handy to store utensils.
Made in Cincinnati, Ohio
How crazy awesome are these barnacle-inspired wall pockets, crafted from recycled corrugated cardboard?! They'd work well anywhere, but I think they'd add so much color to a child's room or a craft/work space.
Made in Jasper, Michigan
It's so nice for kids to be able to see the covers of their favorite books, especially before they learn how to read.
Made in New York, New York
Technically this is a vase (and a super pretty one, at that), but I might also use it to hold art supplies.
Made in South Jordan, Utah
When I lived in NYC, my snowboard was always leaning against one of the walls of my apartment—looking good but taking up much-needed space. This snowboard rack (and they also make them for skis) is made of pine and poplar so it's extremely sturdy.
Made in Fairfield, Connecticut
With an inbox, outbox, key holder, and chalkboard, this pretty much takes care of all your entryway organizational needs and it uses zero counter space.
