Growing up, my family spent a week in Sandbridge Beach, Virginia every August. All the houses had ridiculous names, like "Sea La Vie" and "Staud's Stilts," and we boogie-boarded, and played Pro Kadima, and collected sand dollars, and swept about a pound of sand out of the house every night. But then my sister and I went away to college, and it got so hard to get everyone together. Summers revolved around college internships and waitressing and going to absurd lengths to nurture relationships of all kinds (!!!). Which brings me to... This year, for the first time in over 15 years, we're all going back, along with some new-ish additions: my sister's boyfriend, my husband Ross, and our two year old son Theo. I'm seriously so excited. What are some of your favorite childhood summer vacation memories? The ocean-inspired goodness below is all made right here in America. It's never too early in the year for a little summer love, right? Gives us something to look forward to.
