by Nina Myers McCammon in

Do you guys read Emily Henderson's design blog? Her friends just threw her a triangle-themed baby shower. It seemed a bit specific to me at first, but as I scrolled through the pics...

I found myself gushing over the beautifully-executed idea, and suddenly stripes and polka dots — trends that have been going strong for an eternity — seemed bland. One caveat? Everything was DIY, from the triangular brass pendants to the paper garlands, and for about a minute, I wished I was craftier. But, after doing a little digging, I found a whole bunch of awesome American designers who are pulling off this fun graphic trend inexpensively. Enjoy!

Handmade in Brooklyn, New York

Hannah Oatman of Brick + Arrow paints her leather cuffs by hand and is happy to customize the color and pattern. Cuff, $49.

Wouldn't this baby quilt make the best shower gift? The designer has tons of different colorways, but what I like about this one is that it's not gender-specific. Petunias quilt, $98.

Angela McCafferty of House of Craft hand paints each mug and the result is a little more homespun, which I think gives this colorful vessel loads of character. Mugs, $12 each.
