These papier-mâché bowls from Chicago-based artist Susan Dwyer of Up in the Air Somewhere really speak to the season, don't you think? They're made of recycled paper, so they're super light, but they're sealed with polyurethane on the outside, which makes them water resistant. I think they're so full of character, and would really refresh a space in a subtle way. Can't you just imagine them filled with jelly beans or serving as an attractive vessel on your desk for paperclips and rubberbands? Susan also makes a lovely line of ceramics, drinkware, and dishes. I've had my eye on her watertower and silo vases for months, which are inspired by Chicago's industrial architecture, and think they would make awesome wedding or housewarming gifts.
